Stainless Steel 304L (EN 1.4307)
Stainless Steel 304L (EN 1.4307)
Introduction
Stainless Steel 304L (EN 1.4307) is a low carbon austenitic grade derived from 304 stainless steel. The “L” stands for “Low Carbon”, which significantly improves its resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding.
Thanks to its excellent corrosion resistance, high weldability and balanced mechanical properties, 304L stainless steel is widely used in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food processing, petrochemical, water treatment and construction industries.
Emirerri Steel supplies Stainless Steel 304L in the form of sheets, plates, tubes, pipes, bars, fittings and flanges for the markets of Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Libya and internationally.

Corrosion Resistance
304L Stainless Steel offers excellent resistance to:
- Atmospheric corrosion
- Humidity
- Food products
- Cleaning products
- Many organic chemicals
- Moderate industrial environments
Thanks to its low carbon content, 304L exhibits better resistance to intergranular corrosion after welding than standard 304.
For highly chlorinated or marine environments, 316L Stainless Steel is generally recommended.
Heat Resistance
304L has excellent resistance to oxidation at high temperatures.
Serving Temperatures
- Intermittent service: up to 870°C
- Continuous service: up to 925°C
Benefits
- Good thermal stability
- Oxidation resistance
